Happy Birthday OpenOffice!!!
Via Menéame we’ve discovered that today is the 9th birthday of the OpenOffice Suite. The original news arrived from Muy Linux.
A day like today, 9 years ago, concretly de October 12th of 2000, the first version of OpenOffice was released, congratulations to the development team.
Given the opportunity, we’ll promote the Open Source Software, remind you that OpenOffice is free and you can use it for the following:
- Text Processing (MS Word files compatible)
- Spreadsheets (MS Excel files compatible)
- Presentations (MS Powerpoint files compatible)
- Databases (i’m not sure if is compatible with MS Access files)
- Draw (better and more complete than MS Paint)
Also remind you OpenOffice is available in many platforms:
- Microsoft Windows
- Mac OS X
- Linux
- Solaris
