Connect USB hard drive larger than 250GB to PS3 – recognize usb hard drive ps3
Hello friends,
Here you can do we like to connect a USB hard drive with more than 200GBof capacity to your PS3 and it recon0zca it as a valid drive. In my case, I have a USB 2.0 Iomega multimedia, which can be connected to the TV and view contents therein.
The fact is that such discs usually come factory formatted in NTFS, since FAT32 partitions are limited to 196GB as much.
To solve this problem, what you should do is the following.
1. Copy what you have in your current hard disk to your PC if you want to keep what’s inside.
2. Download this application (Fat32 Formatter), an application that allows you to format your disk in FAT 32, even as a single partition, in my case 500GB. You can download it from here.
3. Unzip the application and Fat32 Formatter apply it to you USB hard disk.
4. Bring back the contents of your PC to your USB hard drive.
If now conectáis to your PS3 will recognize it as a new removable hard drive with 500 GB.
Enjoy.
