There is now a new jailbreak application available on Cydia which helps in extending battery life on iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. Available by the name of Auto3G on BigBoss repository, this app basically turns off the 3G radio and switches to 2G (EDGE) when you lock your phone, and turns it back on as soon as you slide-to-unlock your phone again.
This is a major reason why you should jailbreak your iPhone or iPod touch if you haven’t already, as we published here.
Apple made a sweet move by adding the ability to add folders full of icons calling the feature ‘folders‘.
Of course they probably just copied the jailbreak hack called ‘categories’.
Anyway, we will admit that Apple’s implimentation is better and the GUI is beautiful. The major downfall to the feature is the limit of apps you can fit in a folder, just 12.
Well, what if I have 20 ‘Kids Games’ or 30 ‘News’ apps? With Infinifolders you can now have them all in one folder. And this is the stock folders from Apple. Now you can scroll down past the 12 app limit.
After a few appearances and a long wait, we finally have an easy way to install Flash on the iPhone. The method that we present to install Frash works for:

- IPAD
For the 2G and 3G iphone is not feasible for the commitment in terms of CPU and ram represents so abstain if your case and do not want the device to suffer. The iPhone Dev Team has just released a near final version of Redsn0w 0.9.5 for both Windows and Mac. This beta release, like all the previous ones is meant for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G only, running iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4). Apart from multitasking and wallpapers support on iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G, this version also brings support to enable battery percentage which otherwise is disabled by Apple.
The latest redsn0w beta lets you individually select whether multitasking and homescreen wallpaper are enabled. It also adds battery percentage and verbose boot mode options. (Verbose boot shows you the kernel messages during boot)
Recently a new version of installous (3.0) has released via Cydia, and comes with a renewed user-interface.
For the people that don’t know installous, and don’t know how it works, here a little explanation:
- Installous allows you to install applications in your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad without iTunes.
- Combined with AppSync also allows you to sincronize your downloaded ipa with your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad.
- Installous allows you to install the applications without pay for them.
